Business Analyst

Works with clients, designers and developers to implement software applications and solutions.  This includes working on a variety of development projects with multiple client groups, gathering and documenting business requirements, writing business procedures, conducting application testing, and other related tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Gather and document business requirements, write business procedures, conduct application testing and other related tasks
  • Produce business and technical requirements specification documents
  • Work with the project stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements, and manage their expectations
  • Facilitate workshop sessions involving a variety of stakeholders with variety of requirements
  • Collect and incorporate data for the development and writing of business requirements, business cases, briefing notes
  • Prepare for and plan functional tests
  • Prepare material and provide direct support to business areas/users to facilitate implementations
  • Assist in performing user acceptance testing, and other related tasks as required

Education and/or Experience: 
Business and/or Technical degree or diploma.  Five years working experience, preferable in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry.

Technical Support Consultant (with programming background) 

Provide quality support to Sapiens customers and employees.  Be the main Sapiens Americas technical point of contact for employees, customers and ISC (International Support Center).
Working with customers to resolve or work-around their support incidents.. 
 

Main Responsibilities 

  • Timely resolution of reported customer issues and general customer satisfaction
  • Gathering and analyzing relevant incident information
  • Documenting reported incidents
  • Recreating reported incidents
  • Working with the International Support Center (ISC) on product problems
  • Testing solutions
  • Responsible for Sapiens installations and maintenance
  • Responsible for ensuring SLAs are met for all customers
  • Responsible for Professional Services: Offering the customer innovative solutions, which require additional development and deliver more business?
  • Responsible for communicating technical and customer issues to Account Management, Sales or pre-sales
  • Collating and dispensing product advice
  • Provide emergency production support 24 x 365

Required Experience

Ideal candidate would have:

  • a mix of COBOL (or PL/I, but preferably COBOL) programming in a CICS environment and Java (or .NET) programming in a distributed environment (3+ years experience) 
  • Extensive knowledge of operating systems - z/OS and Windows are must, i5/OS,IBM i, Windows, Linux - an advantage
  • Extensive knowledge of databases (DB2 for z/OS is a must, SQL Server and Oracle - an advantage)
  • Expertise in TSO/ISPF, CICS, JCL
  • Technical Support experience
  • Implementation experience
  • eMerge** application development/administrative skills – an advantage

Senior Java Developer 

Responsible for Java/J2EE/JEE5 application development supporting business objectives while providing expertise in software development lifecycle phases from concept and design to testing. Analyzes, designs and builds component-based applications in a Web/internet delivery environment, including introduction of an application layer, modeling techniques, component and object-oriented design, complex algorithmic coding, and systematic approaches to application integration. Works on new and existing applications along with enhancements of web applications, and infrastructure. Performs hands-on coding, mentors junior developers and assists in architecting web content solutions. Serves as liaison to internal customers, research groups and various business support areas. Expertise in server-side web presentation technologies.

  • Understand customer business requirements and develop solutions to meet those requirements
  • Develop an in-depth technical understanding of the Rapid-Sure product and develop solutions in-line with the product strategy
  • Planning and estimating work for self and others

Education and Experience
  

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or related discipline is required or equivalent work experience and technical training
  • 5 or more years of Java experience managing application design, software development, maintenance and delivery with at least 2 years with application servers; e.g.  JBoss/Hibernate; Oracle /9/10/11 Application Server; SQL Server; J2EE Application Server; IBM Websphere, Tomcat, or BEA Weblogic; Apache
  • Minimum of 3 years technical work experience in a team environment as a programmer
  • Strong experience with Web architecture and Web design and development tools and languages, e.g. Eclipse, Portlets, Liferay, JSF, JSP, Hibernate, EJB 3.0, POJOs , SLSB, Rich Domain Model, SOAP, REST, XML/XSD, Groovy,  J2EE, JEE5
  • Strong relational database experience (SQL Server 2005/2008, Oracle 9/10/11, DB2)
  • Strong background working in distributed Linux and Windows environments
  • Experience designing N-tiered applications, with multi-tier architecture and production Internet architectures
  • Strong experience developing and implementing highly complex technical solutions in a J2EE / JEE5 web environment
  • Property and Casualty Insurance Business Experience
  • Highly desirable:
    • Rapid applications development or Agile programming experience
    • Sun Certified Developer (SCJD)
    • Sun Certified Programmer (SCJP)
    • Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services (SCDJWS)
